In this article, I'll show my work in character creation. Here you can see three characters along with some details on their personalities.
My latest project involves researching characters for this storyline; specifically their appearance and behaviors. At this early stage of development these versions may still change significantly in appearance or personality.
Hermes will serve as our main character. Though similar to his godly namesake, Hermes prefers solitude when reading. An ideal day for him would include sitting next to a window sipping coffee while listening to raindrops fall outside on him while reading. Though typically quiet and reserved, Hermes tends to read people well enough that conversations with strangers shouldn't prove too challenging if need be.
Remington Sawyer (known by most as Remi) is one of the characters we can read about, though we know very little about him due to Elijah Sawyer never discussing him extensively and Hermes never getting to meet him directly; thus all we really have is an impression from when Remington was 16 years old.
Remi was the embodiment of golden retriever energy. He loved getting his hands dirty and just staring into nature for hours on end - possibly due to ADHD (though such terms did not exist at that time). Unfortunately for Remi, bureaucracy involved with family business was something he hated doing so gladly left Elijah to handle that burden instead.
This personality is someone with whom one could converse for hours while also just lazing on the grass in silence for as long as desired.
All we know about him comes from letters between he and Remi; no details exist as to his family background or how he came to work at the library - his tale is one too painful for anyone else, so let us just leave it at that.
His shy yet witty disposition allows people to treat him poorly only if it serves his advantage. He knows how to manipulate others for his benefit and read their signals so as to know when is best approach them. When comfortable around others he likes discussing science, music or any topic which interests him.
