Implementation of the boss battle began, intending to give players one final challenge that would test their knowledge of game mechanics and ensure success with my design.

The boss character should be intimidating and feature strong health levels and powerful long-range attacks to emphasize his or her strength.

Boss Attacks:

  • Spear Sweep: When confronted, the boss performs an enormous spear sweep that covers an extended area, quickly incapacitating their target and forcing it away.
  • Spear Stab: When executed from a distance, this powerful attack requires quick reflexes in order to successfully avoid its targeting range; dodging at the last moment to successfully escape is key for its effectiveness.
  • Spear Throw Attack: When players move beyond its grasp, the boss resorts to throwing its spear toward the player as an attack plan.
  • Back Jump: When used properly, this move adds an unexpected element to battle by creating an unexpected leap behind their opponent and unleashing them by surprise.
  • Shield Slam Attack: When near the boss, this move allows it to cause Area of Effect damage (AoE). This move must only be performed when near him/her.

As such, I may pause development of the boss battle in order to focus on player mechanics and prototype new gameplay elements.
