As we work on Sugar Mess - Let's Play Jolly Battle, here is another Dev Diary edition where we share progress for Multiplayer: Arena Single Player mode and Co-op mode.
Sugar Mess - Let's Play Jolly Battle is progressing well and here are our interim results for Multiplayer: Arena Single Player mode and Co-Op mode.
Arena Offering both solo and multiplayer modes, Arena Mode presents classic solo or multiplayer experiences in one. Your objective in Arena is to defend Sweet land efficiently against attackers while repelling waves of them; each wave presents different challenges; repelling more waves opens up additional rewards! Repelling certain numbers of attack waves unlocks even greater benefits!
Positioned at the heart of the arena, this area features teleportation spots for movement, fortification areas and stations for weapon recharging stations - providing players a constant active zone throughout gameplay.
Chunks:
These are designated land areas enclosing the active zone from which cake mobs attack. Chunks continually move around; each boasting unique terrain, biomes and object arrangements which adds another dynamic component to this game.
At the center of each Arena is one player tasked with protecting his or her zone from cake attacks by placing themselves there and standing guard at all times.
Co-op mode Players in Co-op Mode have two options for joining existing rooms hosted by others or creating their own and inviting other players - either joining pre-existing rooms hosted by someone else, or creating their own and inviting fellow players directly.
Co-op mode offers similar gameplay experience as solo play, except with one important difference: all cake mobs get stronger over time in co-op, increasing damage and HP percentage, making for an intensified challenge for cooperative gamers. Solo play sees cake mobs coming from two directions while 4 directions pose unique obstacles during multiplayer battles.
