Now is the perfect time for our monthly development log to showcase what has been accomplished since last time! Including team updates as well as any newly implemented features.

Welcome back, fellow folks and gamers! It's been another month and time for an update on all that has been going on at Utter Dark for you guys in development! So keep an eye out! We promise an epic ride next month.

Folklands was developed by our indie studio Bromantic Games based out of Norway. Composed of three brothers from its scenic countryside, our game not only pays homage to our heritage; but is a direct reiteration and remake of classic gaming experiences we experienced as children such as Settlers, Caesar, Age of Empires and Transport Tycoon - reminding us all to enjoy these wonderful titles again today. Folklands offers players a nostalgic journey inspired by games they grew up with!

Folklands was created as an homage to classic games, reflecting our shared memories, cultural influences and deep bond as brothers.

Folklands Are Our Community Connecting Point

Folklands was designed for both single- and multiplayer play, offering you the full game experience no matter if you choose to play alone or with others. Multiplayer elements don't merely serve as additional features - they play an essential part of this unique gaming experience!

Playing together has always brought us closer as brothers, and having multiplayer in Folklands provides an avenue to enjoy it with both our siblings and with old friends alike. Since early development we have made sure both modes are fun and engaging to play simultaneously.

That is why features that enable players to invite friends into an existing singleplayer game makes perfect sense: when playing alone and suddenly your brother or friend joins online you want the experience shared, but with different schedules being kept at bay by being able to quickly join and leave games is also crucial.

We have made considerable strides this month towards connecting the multiplayer feature of Folklands to Steam networking service.

Folklands never focused on war or conflict - or its subsequent conquest - rather it provides relaxing yet engaging gameplay while you build the medieval settlement of your dreams. There will be ways for players to interact, such as racing for territory domination or building exchanges or trading; setting difficulty options; competing over certain areas on the map but all within an atmosphere of relaxed engagement.

Looking ahead, we look forward to showcasing more of the multiplayer gameplay and how this all works together with an upcoming streaming video.
