Mycosis is an action-logic platformer game with traditional action elements combined with strong emphasis on solving logical puzzles. Set within a laboratory complex besieged by an unknown disease turning researchers into fungal zombies, its plot is heavily inspired by creator's background in microbiology as well as references made to its history and modern elements within.

Mycosis is an innovative combination of action and logic platformer games. More than simply traditional action elements, Mycosis emphasizes solving logic puzzles to overcome enemies or find another route forward using your ingenuity, objects or interactions within the environment. Choosing which weapon or path forward often depends upon you!

GAME PLOT

My game takes place within a laboratory complex where an unknown disease has begun spreading rapidly, turning researchers into fungal zombies. My story draws heavily upon my profession as a microbiologist at MBU (in Czech), both contemporary and historical; hence the subtitle of my game being: Heroes of MBU." Additionally, many classic video games such as Abuse Half Life or even Fallout series also provided inspiration.

GAME ENGINE

My game was built using my own Java engine, taking more than eight years from start to finish as part of its creation process by myself alone. While its development took considerable time (the game took almost 9 years altogether to make!), its creation proved extremely fulfilling to me as its creation gave me total creative control in choosing game object attributes which in my view gave it its unique signature and gave the final game its unique identity.
