No longer does all equipment belong "attached to each character", instead we can separately purchase weapons, armor and protective suits for every member of our crew.

Since my absence has been for such an extended period of time, that's because I was working on revamping the equipment system for crew members. Gone is the old system whereby all equipment was "glued into character", now we can purchase weapons and armor/armoured suits separately for each crew member.

However, this comes at a cost - for any crew member to successfully equip an item, they must possess sufficient abilities (skills) in order to do so. A maximum level for abilities exists and this should not affect putting items onto an aircraft.

At present, various equipment and skills related to its possession have become available: - Standard Armor (requiring "Possession of Standard Armor") - this encompasses typical body armor as well as some forms of armoured suits.

Heavy Armor Mastery") to access powerful armor and exosuits that offer tremendous protection and special abilities.

- Standard Weapons (requiring "Possession of Standard Weapons") Standard weapons include light arms such as small arms, rifles, shotguns and submachine guns.

Heavy Weapons (requiring "Possession of heavy Weapons" skill). This category comprises powerful guns such as plasma cannons, assault rifles or machine guns which require skill "Possession of heavy Weapons". You can purchase new equipment through Earth Trade Fleet at player stations (ie: at your station).

Crew members may also be hired at the player's station and now boast specializations that determine which skills each character possesses and will increase upon levelling up (level up features will be introduced in future updates).

Now you can hire pre-trained crew members (presets). From an ordinary soldier with an everyday rifle to space marines with plasma guns. Keep in mind when choosing pre-trained presets (presets) whether to buy an ordinary soldier as this might prevent you from customizing his equipment accordingly - for instance you might only be able to purchase simple soldiers without special abilities for specific equipment types (ie: cool armor).

Each armored suit now provides protection for different environmental conditions. At present, environmental conditions include heat, cold, lack of oxygen and toxicity - each effect has their own level (such as 1st level heat equating to 100C and 5th level being 500C).

For safe enjoyment on Venus' surface temperature of approximately 450 Cdeg, which corresponds to its 5th level of "heat", you will require at least five level resistance spacesuit. Anything lower will still cause damage; but going without protection immediately increases it significantly.
