How limiting my social media usage increased my focus and energy.

Hello there! In this devlog I will talk about what changes have taken place with regard to my free time spending and their amazing effects. Hopefully something from here may prove beneficial in your own lives as well!

As part of my holiday festivities and lifestyle adjustments which I will detail later, I took three days off work during Christmas festivities and visited family. These trips provided welcome, relaxing, and uneventful breaks from working on Assembly RTS.

As I realized that my infantry animations weren't adequate enough, it made sense for me to create my own animations from scratch and test their effectiveness.

Cascadeur offers powerful physics simulation and auto-posing features which could speed up animation of humanoid characters, though I usually favor Blender for 3D animation. For my endeavor, I first tested animating walk and run-cycles in Cascadeur before switching back to Blender as my go-to application for 3D animation.

As I learned the ropes, Cascadeur has proven itself worthy of this task. Although still incomplete, you'll get to see its final outcome in my upcoming devlog!

Up until last weekend I had been using more social media in my free time.

My hope was that being active on social media could open some interesting marketing doors for Assembly RTS along the way - which has proven partially true.

However, I recently realized that even though my social media usage did not expose me to drama and politics; rather it focused on providing news updates about other game developers and artists' projects - this activity had an overall detrimental impact.

Once I realized this was happening to me, I made significant adjustments on how I spend my free time.

So how have things gone so far? Well, I feel terrific and there have been so many positive outcomes!
