We want to reveal all of our development secrets through this DevLog post about "Sugar Mess - Let's Play Jolly Battle. Chapter II". These new game levels provide 10 additional challenges to players who completed Chapter I levels successfully; so here we discuss new level concepts as we reveal their secrets!
Sugar Kingdom comes under attack by cakes! But Sugar Prince stands strong with his arsenal of sweet weapons to defend it and repels attack by opponents. On his quest through Sugar Kingdom he discovers who dares attack him!
Beginning Chapter I, players enter an immersive hub resembling Prince's room. Here they begin the game through learning about fascinating details from an interactive pop-up book in the center of their hub that unfolds the Prince's tale through every page spread - offering players a quick version of both plot and cutscenes themselves!
After successfully completing Chapter I's levels, players will unlock Chapter II with its 10 new levels and more challenging gameplay. To access it, they interact with a lever in the main hub area which triggers an instant transition into an entirely different landscape that presents them with 10 fresh challenges and obstacles - effectively changing up their old map entirely!
Each level presents different challenges for players to face and offers them their own unforgettable experience.
Each level presents unique obstacles for an enjoyable gameplay journey, making this chapter challenging mode unique in design and experience. When successfully completed (Chapter II), players receive special items; three gun skins for default weapons as well as four additional guns!
These rewards can be utilized in Arena mode - an additional co-op level designed to broaden player arsenal and customize customization features.
