Aeon Nightmares is an immersive horror themed platformer game inspired by Cave Story, Yume Nikki and LISA.
Aeon Nightmares, my story-focused 2D platformer game developed over 5 years, is finally complete and available for public consumption! My main sources of inspiration were Cave Story, Yume Nikki and LISA as I developed Aeon Nightmares solo for its entirety.
This game provides approximately two to four hours of content, such as:
- Story about an unusual girl, an unusual world and an unfamiliar gun.
- Explore various environments at your own pace or quickly via recoil and rocket jumping techniques.
- Multiple boss fights and challenges must be surmounted before making progress in this game.
- There is plenty of extra content, items and lore available here that add variety and random chance events.
- Cute angelic characters who endure horrible experiences.

As soon as I started this endeavor, my estimate for completion was two years. When time passed without change or results being seen I began wondering whether continuing was worthwhile but once done...it really felt worth my while!
Though, my next project should only last 2 years max, so maybe this won't happen again anytime soon.
