This week we are showing the drop pod system and its features.
This development log will focus on Drop Pods and "The Drop Shop". Fans of Hunger Games know that competitors must obtain sponsors who supply items during competition. This devlog seeks to shed some light on these matters.
Obitus pods will be strategically dropped from the sky at random intervals and positions; each contains items like medicine, weapons and food for distribution to players.
Each pod will display its own distinct trail color; those filled with common items, like food or medicine, will show as blue while rare pods containing weapons will display as yellow/gold.
Apart from random pods, each player also has access to personal drops - personal shops where items that will help them survive can be bought with points spent from their stash.
When purchasing items, players will cause them to drop a pod with a red trail from about 30 meters from where the purchase took place.
However, this gives away your position to other contestants who could attempt to hunt you down.
Players earn additional drop points every five minutes and for every kill they execute.
There can only ever be six pods at any given time (personal pods not included). Once one has been looted it will automatically get removed in about a minute; if someone chooses not to fully loot their pod it may remain and make it more difficult for other players to acquire new pods.
Most items found in the drop shop can be created through crafting using resources found within the game; these crafted items typically offer less durability and lower stats compared to their purchased counterparts.
